Al’Adalah: The Islamic and Social Journal is a national journal with peer reviews published twice a year in print and online by the Centre for Research and Community Service (LP2M) UIN Kiai Haji Achmad Siddiq Jember Indonesia. This statement describes the ethical behavior of all parties involved in publishing articles in Al'Adalah, including authors, editors, peer reviewers, and publishers. This statement is based on Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

ISSUING ETHICS GUIDELINES
Publishing articles in Al-‘Adalah is an essential building block in developing a coherent and down-to-earth knowledge network. This is a direct reflection of the quality of the authors' work and the institutions that support them. The articles reviewed support and contain the scientific method. Therefore, it is crucial to agree on standards of ethical behavior expected of all parties involved in publishing, namely: authors, journal editors, peer-reviewed partners, publishers, and the public.

The Centre for Research and Community Service (LP2M) UIN Kiai Haji Achmad Siddiq Jember as the publisher of Al-'Adalah is responsible for overseeing all stages of publishing seriously and recognizing ethical and other responsibilities. The institution is committed to ensuring that reprint advertisements and additional commercial revenues have no impact or influence on editorial decisions. Still, it is also committed to assisting communication with journal managers and/or other publishers if it is deemed valuable and necessary.

Issuance Decision
Al-Adalah's editors are responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted should be published. The validation of the work and its importance to researchers and readers should always drive this decision. Editors can be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and are limited by the legal provisions that must be enforced regarding defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. Editors can confer with other editors or the assessment team to make this decision.

Fair Treatment
Editors always judge manuscripts based on their intellectual content regardless of the authors' race, sex, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, nationality, or political philosophy.

Confidentiality
Editors and editing staff may not disclose any information about manuscripts submitted to anyone other than authors, expert editors, peer reviewers, and publishers.

Notifications and Conflicts of Interest
Unpublished materials disclosed in the submitted manuscripts may not be used in the editor's own research without the express written consent of the authors.

ASSESSMENT TEAM OBLIGATIONS
Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Peer reviewers' assessments help editors make editorial decisions and, through editorial communication with authors, can also help authors improve their writing.

Speed
Any selected evaluator who feels unqualified to assess the research reported in a manuscript or knows that his quick review will not be possible should notify the editor and excuse himself from the assessment process.

Confidentiality
Any manuscripts received for assessment must be treated as confidential documents. The document may not be shown or discussed with others unless authorized by the editor.

Standard of Objectivity
Assessments must be carried out objectively. Personal criticism of the author is not justified. Assessors must clearly state their views with supporting arguments.

Source Recognition
Assessors must identify relevant published works that the author did not cite. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument has been previously reported must be accompanied by a relevant quote. An appraiser must also ask the editor to pay attention to any similarities or overlaps between the text being assessed and other writings that have been published.

Notifications and Conflicts of Interest
Confidential information or opinions obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and may not be used for personal gain. Assessors should not consider texts with a conflict of interest arising from a competitive, cooperative, or other relationship or connection with any author, company, or institution associated with the article.

AUTHOR OBLIGATIONS
Reporting Standards

Authors must present an accurate report of the work created and objectively discuss its significance. The primary data must be represented accurately in writing. An article should include sufficient detail and references to allow others to repeat the work. Fraudulent or intentionally inaccurate statements are unethical and unacceptable behavior.

Authenticity and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure they have written entirely original works and cite correctly when using someone else's work and/or words.

Multiple, Repeat, or Concurrent Issuance
An author may not publish manuscripts describing the same research in multiple journals or significant publications. It is unethical and unacceptable to submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously.

Source Recognition
Fair recognition of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite influential publications in determining the nature of the reported work.

Writing Authorship
Authorities should be limited to those who contributed significantly to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All people who made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. If there are other people who have participated in certain important aspects of the research project, they must be acknowledged or listed as contributors. The appropriate author must ensure that all appropriate co-authors are included in the paper and that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the article and have agreed to submit it for publication.

Notifications and Conflicts of Interest
All authors must disclose in their text any financial or other substantive conflicts that may be suspected of affecting the results or interpretation of their text. All financial support for the project must be disclosed.
